Who We Are

H.E.L.P. Ministries, Inc. is a non-profit ministry operating from behind the doors of The Apostolic Church of Jesus at 1381 Oak Village Drive, Largo, where we strive to serve poor, destitue, and under-privileged families of the greater Pinellas County and its surroundind communities. H.E.L.P. Ministries, Inc. endeavors to reach each and every individual that passes through the ministry door, via a tri-fold approach: your physical needs are addressed, your emotional issues are discussed, and lastly, though most critically for many, your spiritual desires are met. Families, and idividuals may frequent the pantry on Mondays, Teusdays, Wenesdays, Friday and Saturday to receive aide.

What We DO

Currently serving approximately 800 to 1,000 families per week, our Outreach Ministry meets basic needs, such as clothing, toys, resource referrals, counseling, information, ministering, meals, with the main focus targeted on supplying food baskets designed to cover the nutritional requirements for a week's worth of meals. As an example, for a family of four, the median total cost value of filling a supply basket with private, public and merchant donations is valued at $60. Families and individuals may frequent the pantry as often as once a week on Tuesdays to receive aide. This is a critical service provided to many indigent, homeless, unemployed, or destitute persons. Those who come may not necessarily qualify, or not qualify quick enough, to receive locally available government or other social aide. H.E.L.P. Ministries, Inc. is, therefore, providing a critical stopgap measure for many that have nowhere else to turn.

Quality Service

Our ministry has an excellent record of service and growth in terms of both the quality and quantity of goods and services provided. Our clientele base has grown ten-fold since our inception. Furthermore, we have witnessed numerous cases where families or individuals have returned to self-sufficiency. While H.E.L.P. Ministries, Inc. does not restrict how long need shall be provided, our records indicated that the average client visists for apporximately two to three months before we begin to notice a return to an elevated self-worth, with subsequent community connections replacing and repairing whatever situation brought clients to our doors in the first place.
